Event Overview

Children’s play and creativity have no bounds, especially in underprivileged communities where bottles become cars, sticks become dolls, and old cans become footballs. Their imagination is inspiring, but these makeshift toys are often unsafe and don’t last.

The Charity Toy Build team building activity brings your team together to create beautiful, high-quality wooden toys that are donated to children in need across the world. We believe every child deserves the joy of play with toys made to last, and through this corporate charity team building activity, your team has the opportunity to make a tangible difference, transforming a few hours of teamwork into moments of happiness for children who have so little.

Guided by expert facilitators, teams receive wooden toy kits to assemble, test and decorate. The experience encourages teamwork, creativity and problem-solving as participants collaborate to bring each toy to life. Once completed, all toys are quality-checked and shipped to children in need around the world. There, they become treasured possessions, giving children the chance to play safely, share laughter with friends, and explore their creativity through toys built just for them.

How It Works

  • The charity team building event begins with an inspiring introduction that connects your team’s efforts to the real impact they’ll have. Participants see photos and videos of children receiving toys built by previous groups and the smiles, excitement and joy that come from holding a toy made just for them.
  • Participants form small teams of 2–4 people. Each group receives a wooden toy kit with toy parts, tools and easy-to-follow instructions. Our expert facilitators will guide the session, ensuring every team enjoys a smooth and rewarding experience.
  • Working together, teams assemble and test their toy. The process develops communication, creativity and problem-solving as participants collaborate toward a shared goal.
  • Once assembled, each toy is placed into a canvas carry bag that can be personalised with drawings and messages for the child who will receive it.
  • Every toy is inspected by our facilitators to ensure it’s sturdy, safe and ready to be enjoyed.
  • The finished toys are distributed through our charity partners to schools and children’s homes in countries such as Uganda, Cambodia and Romania. There, they become part of daily life, giving children the chance to play safely, share with friends, and explore their creativity.
  • After the team building charity event, we provide general updates on where the toys have been delivered so your team can see the difference they’ve made together.

FAQs

Charity Toy Build is a hands-on charity team building activity where participants work in teams to build wooden toys that are donated to children in underprivileged communities. Guided by expert facilitators, teams collaborate, problem-solve and get creative, turning teamwork into something that truly makes a difference.

This charity team building activity is perfect for organisations looking to combine CSR with an engaging, meaningful team activity. It suits team building sessions, company away days, conferences and Christmas parties of all sizes.

Wooden toys are safe, sustainable and built to last. They don’t rely on batteries or fragile materials, making them ideal for children in communities where replacements or repairs aren’t easily available. Their timeless, tactile design encourages open-ended play, helping children use their imagination and develop coordination and problem-solving skills. Each toy your team builds is crafted to provide years of joy, learning and creativity.

Once completed, all toys are quality-checked to ensure they are safe and durable. They are then distributed through our charity partners to schools and homes around the world such as  Uganda, Cambodia and Romania, where they are gifted to children who benefit from safe, lasting play. Post-event, we share general updates about where and how the toys have been delivered.

The Charity Toy Build activity is fully scalable, suitable for small teams of 2 right up to large events with over 1,000 participants. In every session, toys are built in teams of 2–4 people, ensuring everyone contributes meaningfully to the build.
