The Manchester Treasure Hunt takes place across Manchester city centre, with each route created bespoke around your event. We can build the experience around your office, hotel, conference venue or chosen start and finish points, incorporating nearby landmarks and areas such as St Peter’s Square, Deansgate, Spinningfields and Castlefield where suitable.
Most events last around 1–3 hours, including the briefing, treasure hunt and finale. We can adapt the format depending on your schedule and chosen route
The Manchester Treasure Hunt works for groups from around 10 to 1,000 participants. Larger groups are split into smaller teams that compete simultaneously across the city.
The terms are often used interchangeably. Our experience combines elements of a traditional treasure hunt and Manchester scavenger hunt, with teams navigating between locations while completing clues, questions and creative challenges.
Not necessarily. The main activity takes place outdoors around Manchester, so an indoor venue isn’t essential. If you’re incorporating the treasure hunt into a conference, meeting or away day, we can also design the route to begin and finish at your chosen venue.

Our London Treasure Hunt takes teams out into the city, equipped with GPS-enabled tablets and a map full of hidden checkpoints. Your job is to work out where to go, get there before your competitors and complete the challenges you unlock along the way.
Routes can weave between famous landmarks, historic streets, green spaces and some of the less obvious corners of the capital. Expect puzzles, photo and video challenges, London trivia and tasks that require a bit of teamwork and quick thinking.

Classic London Treasure Hunt Route
One of our most popular routes runs through the heart of central London, linking some of the city’s best-known landmarks with challenges and GPS checkpoints along the way. Your treasure hunt in London can be adapted around where you’re based and what you’d like your team to see. We can create routes around Westminster, South Bank, the City of London or build a more bespoke route connecting your office or venue with specific locations.

How It Works
- Your group will be split into teams, with each team receiving an iPad loaded with an interactive GPS map of your London route.
- Teams set off on foot, using the map and clues to navigate between GPS checkpoints across the city.
- Reach the right location and a new challenge will automatically unlock on your tablet.
- Challenges include London trivia, puzzles, riddles, observation tasks, augmented reality games and creative photo and video missions. You might be asked to recreate a scene, find an unusual photo opportunity or get creative with your surroundings.

Cryptic clues, silly challenges and logical puzzles make exploring a city much more memorable. With your team, you’ll get to navigate your way past Radcliffe Camera and Oxford Castle Prison, straight to victory!
Before you get to explore Oxford, each team will be given a high-tech tablet equipped with an interactive treasure map, a running leader board and live locations. You’ll need to navigate your way down narrow, cobblestoned alleyways and modern high streets flanked by Gothic buildings, all the while strategising with your team to complete the challenges and win!

Explore Oxford's Historic Sites and Hidden Gems
While all of GOTO Events’ treasure maps are completely bespoke, we do have a few suggestions for iconic Oxford sites to include:
- University of Oxford: Founded in 1096 and spanning more than 1,327 acres across Oxford, it’ll be hard to miss the grand, stunningly diverse architecture and dreaming spires on your treasure hunt.
- Carfax Tower: By law the tallest building in Oxford city centre at 74 feet, the building stands in the middle of a 12th-century crossroads, a perfect place for a challenge.
- Bodleian Library: If you struggle with a puzzle, you might find inspiration or even answers in one of the 12 million items in the Bodleian Library collection, or in the beauty of the domed Radcliffe Camera.
- Oxford Castle: What is a treasure hunt without a notorious, haunted prison en route? With its 1,000 years of history, the castle once saw Empress Matilda escape a siege by slipping into the snow dressed in all white after three months of captivity.
- Ashmolean Museum: Try to outsmart your competition in front of Britain's first public museum from 1683, home to global collections of art and archeology.
- Hidden Gems: For a completely different experience, take your team to The Ultimate Picture Palace with its retro facade, perfect for a photo challenge, or The Turf Tavern, a Morse-style pub, enclosed by medieval walls and only accessible down a narrow passageway, once known as Hell’s Passage, underneath the Bridge of Sighs. How It Works
- Prior to the event, we'll enquire about any specific sites in Oxford you want to explore and create a bespoke treasure map, which won't be revealed till the event.
- On the day, you'll meet at the starting point, either your office or a hired venue, and divide into teams. Each team will then be equipped with an iPad with a treasure map displaying the leader board and real-time location of the teams.
- You'll need to crack the cryptic clues and move around the treasure map to every location, where you'll find secret challenges revealed on the screen. Complete all of the challenges to dominate the leader board!

How It Works
- Teams will be briefed by the Event Manager before receiving a team iPad, loaded with our interactive event app. Teams create their team name and selfie, then their map unlocks and the race begins!
- The map starts with around 8–10 country checkpoints, each offering a range of questions and challenges to earn points. These could include picture and video challenges, country-specific tasks and general knowledge questions.
- Teams have complete freedom to choose which checkpoints they visit, meaning strategy is key.
- Halfway through the event, new countries and checkpoints will be added, giving teams fresh opportunities to score.
- Every 25 minutes, a surprise Hotspot will appear on the map for just 5 minutes. These Hotspots feature higher-value challenges, with extra points for the first teams to arrive. An Event Manager will also be there with a book for teams to sign, creating a fun keepsake for your company. Miss the 5-minute window, and the points are gone!
- Points are scored throughout the event, but the leaderboard remains hidden until everyone returns. Once the iPads are handed back, we'll reveal the final scores with a fun presentation showcasing what teams have been getting up to. Prizes are awarded to the top three teams: 🥇 1st Place: Medal & bottle of bubbly🥈 2nd Place: Medal🥉 3rd Place: Medal.
