When people work together for a good cause, they build stronger bonds, sharing the satisfaction that they made a difference. Here at GOTO Events, we are passionate about corporate team building that goes beyond fun and friendly competition; we believe in team building that brings people closer through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and charitable impact.
To build on our existing and much-loved charity portfolio, we’re excited to introduce three brand-new charity team building events. Designed by our expert team in collaboration with our partner charities, these experiences offer organisations an engaging and unforgettable way to change lives around the world while strengthening communication, trust and collaboration within their own teams.
- The Helping Hand Project – A powerful charity team building event where teams build real prosthetic hands for amputees in developing countries, giving people back their independence.
- Charity Toy Build – A hands-on, heartwarming charity team building event where teams assemble beautiful wooden toys that are donated to children in underprivileged communities, bringing them safe, lasting play.
- The Clean Water Project – A powerful charity team building event where teams assemble life-saving water filtration systems that provide clean drinking water to hundreds of people in developing countries.
These new experiences combine hands-on teamwork with real-world purpose. They give teams the chance to collaborate, communicate and create something meaningful, whether it’s prosthetic hands for amputees, wooden toys for children in need, or water filtration systems for communities with limited access to safe drinking water.
Corporate charity team building activities are more than just social activities; they’re opportunities for teams to come together with empathy and purpose, and to see how their collective effort can genuinely change lives.
Why Charity Team Building Matters
In today’s world, purpose is just as important as performance. Organisations are increasingly looking for ways to make a difference and to engage their people not only through collaboration and skill-building but also through acts of kindness and global impact.
Our charity team building activities offer that perfect balance. They have been expertly designed to provide all the energy and interaction of our team building activities, with the added reward of knowing that you’re making a real, tangible difference for others.
These new experiences were carefully developed in collaboration with trusted charity partners, ensuring that each event makes a measurable difference to people and families in developing countries. Let’s take a closer look at how each one works and the incredible impact they make.
1. The Helping Hand Project: Building Hope, One Hand at a Time
The Helping Hand Project is a powerful team building charity event where teamwork quite literally changes lives.
What Happens on the Day
After a short and inspiring introduction that connects your team’s effort to its real-world impact, participants work in small groups to assemble functional prosthetic hands. Each hand is built from scratch using specialist kits, guided by our trained facilitators.
Throughout the session, teams take part in light-hearted sensory challenges, completing tasks that limit sight or dexterity, helping them better understand the everyday difficulties faced by those living without a limb. This creates a shared sense of empathy and appreciation, while keeping the energy fun and engaging.
Every completed prosthetic hand is carefully checked for quality, placed in a protective carry case, and decorated by the team with messages of encouragement for its future recipient.

2. Charity Toy Build: The Gift of Play
Every child deserves the chance to play, imagine and create. Yet for many children in underprivileged communities, safe and durable toys are a rare luxury. Charity Toy Build gives your team the opportunity to change that.
What Happens on the Day
Guided by our expert facilitators, participants form small teams to assemble and decorate beautiful wooden toys, using kits that include all the parts, tools and creative materials they need. The session is lively and collaborative, encouraging teamwork, communication and problem-solving as teams bring their toys to life.
Each toy is then placed in a canvas carry bag that participants can personalise with drawings and messages, adding a heartfelt touch for the child who will receive it.
The Impact
The toys are distributed through our charity partners to schools and children’s homes in Uganda, Cambodia and Romania, where they bring smiles, creativity and moments of joy to children who might never have owned a toy before.
More than just an act of giving, Charity Toy Build reminds teams of the joy of childhood and the power of making something together that truly matters. It’s a heartwarming, hands-on charity team building activity that strengthens connection and purpose within every team.
3. The Clean Water Project: Teamwork that Saves Lives
Access to clean water is something many of us take for granted. Yet for millions of people, it’s a daily struggle. Contaminated water causes preventable diseases that claim lives every year. The Clean Water Project transforms that global challenge into a life-saving charity team building event.
What Happens on the Day
Teams work together to build fully functional water filtration systems that can provide clean water for up to 300 people for two years. Guided by our facilitators, participants collaborate, communicate and problem-solve to complete their build. In a moving twist, part of the activity is completed blindfolded to simulate the challenges faced by those living without access to clean water.
Each filter is tested, decorated and assigned a unique tracking ID, allowing your team to follow its journey and later see photos of it being used by the recipient community.
The Impact
Every water filter built provides a direct, life-saving benefit to families and communities in Uganda and beyond. They help prevent diseases like cholera, dysentery and typhoid, illnesses that are entirely avoidable with access to clean water.
The Clean Water Project leaves teams with a deep sense of empathy and pride, knowing that their efforts have literally saved lives. It’s one of the most powerful reminders that teamwork can create lasting global change.
